Yo, Brook here!
Welcome to Wednesday Wrap Up #1.
This is a new series that I am starting for the KEEP GOING Newsletter. It is a supplement to the Sunday deep dives, stories, and lessons.
Here you will see where I am at, what I am up to, and what I am looking into…
Enjoy!
where i am: Lincoln, NE, USA.
I am currently just outside of Lincoln, Nebraska, USA.
It is currently fall and the colors are changing on the trees. I go on long walks along country roads by farms and tree lined estates.
It is truly beautiful.
But, I am getting pretty tired of the flatness and incredibly indecisive weather 😅. Snow will be coming soon.
what i am doing for training: Hybrid + Kettlebell
I recently purchased a heavy and pretty dang expensive piece of metal. A 16kg (or 35.3lbs for my american folk) kettlebell.
For a long time, I have been keen on investing in a kettlebell because of the shear versatility of the equipment.
I am on day 4 of being a kettlebell owner and I have been impressed and seriously humbled by 35 pounds…
Overall, my training this past week has been:
Kettlebell complexes and practice
Long walks + some running
Animal and primal movements for at least 1 min a day. (iykyk)
Mobility + flexibility training
what i am reading: The War of Art - Winning the Inner Creative Battle by Steven Pressfield.
Here is a highlight on brand and identity:
The professional identifies with her consciousness and her will, not with the matter that her consciousness and will manipulate to serve her art. Does Madonna walk around the house in cone bras and come-fuck-me bustiers? She’s too busy planning D-Day. Madonna does not identify with “Madonna.” Madonna employs “Madonna.”
Ever since reading Paul Grahams essay on keeping your identity small (link), I have been interested in how I identify my personal brand with myself vs how I portray to others.
The highlight above does a great job of showing the separation for an icon like Madonna.
(highly recommend this book to all writers, artists, creatives, and business owners - link)
what album do i have on repeat: Metaphorical Music by Nujabes
This is the antidote to stagnation, fantastic music to work and vibe to.
If you do animal flow or any sort of dance-esque movement, slap this album on, it will be a certified vibe.

what podcast episode is taking up free real estate in my brain: Huberman Lab - Tim Ferriss: How to Learn Better & Create Your Best Future
Tim Ferriss and Huberman are hosts of my two most listened to podcasts, and this guest episode on Huberman Lab is a real treat for me.
This episode is long, but probably has the answer to most of life’s problems in it. Or at least will put you on track to figuring them out. (Just like how reading the autobiography of Malcolm X will do the same.)
Give it a listen. You will not regret it.

something i found cool: Pumpkin cannons and launchers.
Humans have a obsession with seeing how far we can throw or shoot things.
Check out and see the destructive power of gourds here shot out of a cannon.
And see people launch pumpkins nearly 1 MILE into a river in the annual Punkin Chunkin here.
This is the first installment of the Wednesday Wrap Up!
Please let me know if this is something you want me to do more of.
If you found something useful or interesting, let me know! You can always reply to this email :D
As always…
KEEP GOING
