How I learned I was NOT a "necessary member of the team"
A tale of shattering mental resistance.
I am writing this to you from a bullet train cruising through the Spanish countryside at 300kph.
Imagine you are on this train, and it is out of control. And we don't have seatbelts.
That is what it feels like to be trapped in your 9-5 because you are a "vital member of the team".
If this sounds like you... read on ↓
I was in a similar situation to you, about 2 weeks ago...
I had SO much mental resistance around quitting my job.
I was a necessary team member.
My job was:
》Limiting where I could go (geo-blocked locations)
》Taking the my best hours of the day
》Causing so much stress...
But I couldn't take it anymore. I was leaving my business on the back burner for too long... I said FUCK IT.
It was time to go all in and quit my job.
I called my boss and told him that I want to put in my two weeks.
I sat there waiting for his response.
"Oh man, how come? We love you here!"
"This is surprising. What can we do to keep you around?!?"
Here is what actually happened:
"sure."
Guess what? ZERO resistance.
Didn't even ask why I was quitting.
He was just like… "okay".
My feelings of being a "necessary team member" just exploded. After that call, all of my resistance was gone.
It just vanished.
In that very moment, I learned that I had so much more control over my life.
I was letting MYSELF down by staying in this job.
To be honest.... That call reeked.
I may have been the next poor soul to get sent to HR, and to the chopping block.
Lesson in this?
You have more control over your life than you think.
You just need to take more action.
Be ruthless.
Accept the responsibility (and consequences) of your choices.
Just fucking commit.
Your life might change.
I wouldn't be here if I didn't take back control over my own life via action.
Fortunately, my train is heading towards MY destination now. It's the path I set for myself, and I am the captain of the train.
Today is the last day of my "2 weeks notice".
I hope this message inspires you to go all in.
KEEP GOING
